3 Months In our Arms

We took custody of Zachary three months ago today. It is amazing to think that this little whirl wind of energy is ours! He is so smart and pays such close attention to detail! He is just a blessing and has just rolled into our family because he was always meant to be here with us.

I wish I could go back and capture all the details in this post of what our family has done since my last post, but that would be impossible. (By the way, sorry about the delay in posting!) We have just sat back and enjoyed the wonderful ride of being a family of three.

Zach is just amazing! I just keep saying that to everyone who asks about him and our transition home. Some of the things he is doing now... He calls our dog "Jo Don" and our cousin's dog "CoCo" all the time. He goes in search of the lawn mower and when he finds it he points and smiles (then turns on the charm for Grandpa Love to take him for a ride)! He can spend hours just going up and down stairs. He loves the phone and giggles and moves to find the phone when it rings. He says "buh buh" and waves his little hand in a stiff karate type wave and just smiles.

Talking about his smile... teething has hit us in a big way the last week. Our pediatrician said that he is cutting all his teeth at one time! And she is not kidding. I am amazed that he is not crying 24 hours a day with how swollen and red his gums are. He has gained 6 pounds since being home and has grown! MY how he has grown. He is a big boy! A big beautiful boy!

Zach has been sleeping the whole night, with very few expectations. He continues to eat very well. He is transitioning well to table food and we still have found nothing that he will not eat.

We really have a water bug on our hands. He loves his little pool, sprinklers, and the bath tub. He also loved the lake! We went down to Dave's parents and spent time on Lake Cooley. He liked his little life jacket and playing with sunglasses! Zach and daddy also played in the water and Zach practiced floating on his back. He also went fishing with Papa Dilworth and Daddy - we think he will like that more as he gets older.

I cannot say it enough - we are so blessed to have this wonderful child. He is just amazing.
