Wow! Home A Month

We cannot believe we have been home a whole month! It was a month today that we landed in Atlanta and Zach became an official citizen. On Friday we received Zach's official citizenship certificate. It was such a surprise to see it in our mailbox. I really thought it would be a few more weeks. I was also surprised to see Zach's visa picture on it. I did not know that was going to be on there, it was a sweet surprise!

I cannot believe how good getting a piece of paper can make you feel. We first learned this "good feeling" when we received our referral paper at the Ministry of Education in Moscow to go to the baby home to meet Zach, back in February. I just sat in the van on the way to Podolsk looking at it! Then today, all the way up the driveway, about 1/2 a mile, I just sat there looking at the sweet little picture taken in February and am just amazed at how much Zach has grown and changed!

Since we received this certificate, Zach and I were able to go to the Social Security office and applied for his Social Security Card! One more thing checked off the list!

Last Friday we went to see our pediatrician again for a "well follow up". He has gained 2 pounds and grown an inch!! Its just amazing! He is up and walking around. He still toddles, but its getting to be a much better "walk". He is growing up! His hair is growing and is thickening up.

We love seeing his personality coming out. And his laugh is so contagious! He now has an all out excited laugh that is so sweet. He really is just a sweet and happy boy! He loves playing in the dirt and walking in the grass. He also LOVES to go up and down steps! Zach has also started to clap sporadically and appropriately. He has also started to wave hello - not really waving good bye.

Zach is still eating good - obviously he has gained 2 pounds. He has started eating table food and seems to like everything we put in front of him. He had a little bit of ice cream and he made a horrible face and shook like he was eating a lemon! It was cute. Of course yogurt is the highlight of his day!

He is still sleeping though the night in his crib with a bed time of around 8pm and up at 6:30am. With two naps during the day.

He loves to go! He loves steering the golf cart and pushing the steering wheel trying to make it go. He also got to ride on the lawnmower (no blades turning). He pushes the handle bars and just smiles. Its so sweet Dave has waited so long to do this with his son and it just warms my heart to see the two of them together. Dave's first father day was a good one. The boys played and rode around the house. They were just precious!

There is so much I could comment on. I still stand in awe each day of the new things he has learned and how this sweet little boy calls me "mama".
