One Week Home

I cannot believe that we have been home one week. It has been an amazing week and a week that seems surreal!

As I have posted earlier in the week things continue to go well with bathing, sleeping, eating, playing, and being a family. We are amazed everyday at the things little man does and we keep thinking we cannot love him anymore, then he goes and smiles or even just a little look and we are completely won over again! Everyday we see little or big mile stones and we can't wait to see what is around the corner.

We also had a few first toward the end of the week. On Friday Zach meet Memaw and Papa Dilworth. It was a lot of fun, they brought Zach a little tiger webkins and he loves drooling on it. He also showed off his winning smile and fun "nose" noises.

On Saturday we attended the CSS annual international adoption families picnic at Dan Nicholas Park. Zach was so cute in his seersucker shorts and matching hat. Dave said, "Zach is dressed better than me" and I replied, "Get used to it!" There were lots of families there sharing their experience and playing around. It is so sweet to see Zach look at all the kids and watch them so closely. We knew going that it maybe too many people too fast, but Zach seemed to handle it well. We held him 95% of the time and he sat on our laps in the shade. He also has another new girlfriend "K" from the CSS office. They played across a table with their hands and he loved it! "K" said he made great eye contact - well of course his big brown eyes always catch the ladies. We were pleased to see him interact with other people but still hold on to us and make sure we never left him. He even flashed a few smiles for the CSS ladies. Zach took a good nap on the way home and he was ready to play and go wide open around the house. His crawling speed has increased by at least 100 miles this week. His standing balance continues to improve as well.

Today was a great day. We did not see any tell tell signs of over doing it yesterday. We took a walk and played outside a little. It was a nice quiet day at home!

The following is a slide show from our first week home. Its long... Sorry, but I take a lot of pictures and it was hard to cut out pictures.

Love the slideshow! I'm so happy things are going so well for you and especially for Zach's transition into your home. We leave on Saturday - yay!! I have no idea how you guys made it 28 days. 21 has been plenty for us!

What a beautiful child! I am so thankful for him and you. We can't wait to intoduce him to the rest of the Dilworth clan and all of his cousins, but we don't want to push him too fast. The slide show is wonderful. Aunt Doris
