At 2:30 am the jackhammer began. I know this because I was not asleep. The "Russian DOT" decided to repave part of the main road in front of our apartment last night. One big issue I have is that the non Russian DOT people who are driving out at this time of the day like to blow their horns at the crew working. I do not mean “beep beep” I mean blare your horn the whole way past them. Now I am not sure why this is. There is not a traffic hold up or issue that I can see from my 9th floor supervisory position. A jackhammer you have got to be kidding me! The boys are fast asleep in their own little world as I was left to listen to jackhammers and cars all night.
So as you can imagine the morning was a very slow start for us – I mean for me. Zach was up bright eyes and bushytailed at 6am. We spent the morning playing and napping. Dave went to the grocery store to pick up a few more diapers and a few jars of food for little man. We don’t want to get caught short handed on the plane.
Today was a very slow day in the apartment. It was a very chilly and cold day. So we decided not to brave the elements too much with all the dark clouds looming. Plus Zach is not as congested as he was a week ago. (Wow I just said a week ago) And until we hit the good NC air I would just assume stay inside, thank you very much!
Tonight was a great night! Bath time was a huge success. Little man went in all by himself and played with his little rubber duckies.
I swear I am not comparing him to our wonderful pups but it was cute tonight with us packing and having all the bags out. He so knew something was up and that we were changing! Just like our little pups at home do. He was crawling on the bags, trying to open the bags, trying to pull things out, and so on. He knows something is up!
Bed time was uneventful as well. Zach went down nicely –we pray this continues at home. Who are we kidding we know what’s in store!
We will be picked up by K&A tomorrow morning at 8:30! Everyone pray that our luggage and us will fit in “A’s” car. Our next post will be done back in North Carolina!! How excited are all three of us – well maybe just two right now!!! We have been blessed with a good trip and tons of wonderful memories. I warn you that it may not be till Sunday or later. If Dave has his way I will post something Saturday.
Also, as we venture home tomorrow we want to make sure we tell our family and friends how much we appreciate all their love and continued support. We also remind our loved ones that we will need time to bond as three in our own home. We just want to remind people that it’s not to hurt feelings or to be rude –we are just trying to do what is best for Zach and at this time we feel very strongly that we have very limited visitors and give us all a chance to enjoy being home. Thank you to everyone for respecting this very important issue for our family.
Dave and I celebrated tonight with a Russian champagne toast. Well not really a toast we only have one glass, but it was a mutual toast. We are so happy and excited. So completely in awe of the wonderful gifts we have been given and this family that has been created. I just stuck my head into check on the little angel. He is fast asleep with his head on his green blanket with his thumb in his mouth. It’s hard to believe that he is all ours – but thankfully he is.
